On Monday 11th June we attended One Stop Social's first Social Care Convention at the Mecure Hotel in the heart of Manchester city centre. We were there as exhibitors and were given a great spot to display our marketing materials and lure people in for a chat. The venue was really easy to find from Manchester Piccadilly and we were really pleased to have an event of this kind in the North West! The event attracted lots of different people from far and wide! We spoke to people who had travelled from London and the North East for the event which must be really encouraging for One Stop Social. We spoke to Student Social Workers who were looking to collect resources and gain experience or recruitment. Residential Support Workers and Social workers who had been practising for many years and who were utilising the event to aid their all important CPD and also trainers and assessors who were looking to make connections, share best practice and network with like minded individuals.

Apart from the stands and displays from various organisations from across the industry there was also a jam packed line up of Workshops. These included talks on CSE, Reflective Practice, Child Protection, Mental Health Act, Self harm and End of life care as well as demonstrations on some new technologies being used in care such as Micareplan and Moodbeam.

The event was well organised and all the One Stop Social Staff were on hand throughout the day. We made some good connections on the day and hope to meet some of you again! Thanks to Matt and all at One Stop Social for a great event. Keep up the good work!
